KUALA LUMPUR:
FORMER political secretary to Parti Keadilan Rakyat Wanita chief, Mohd Fareez
Kamal Intidzam, said the sex video of a PKR leader exposed recently was a
conspiracy to topple party deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.
Fareez claimed that the sex video was planned and exposed by president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail's camp to reopen Azmin's sex video case.
"The leader
in the video is just a scapegoat. The disciplinary action taken against him and
his dismissal will be used as a "case reference" for the
investigation of Azmin's sex video leaked in May last year," he said in a
statement.
He said with solid
"case reference", Azmin would be forced to face disciplinary action
and dismissed, preventing him from contesting in the 13th general election.
"The
president's camp realises that Azmin has gained a strong footing among party
followers. So they have conspired to topple him and tarnish his
reputation."
Fareez added this
was also their way to "counter attack" his letter dated March 4,
urging Pas president Abdul Hadi Awang to support Azmin as the new PKR
president.
Badan Bertindak
Anti-Penyelewengan Kedah president Khairul Anuar Ramli on Friday had exposed
the video in a blog, urging PKR leaders to investigate the matter.
"I was told
that Khairul Anuar's action to bring up this matter was driven by Dr Wan
Azizah's camp."
He added that the
whole conspiracy was immature and it showed that Wan Azizah was "a
political desperado".
"This should not be happening, especially during this time when party members have to unite and work together for the coming general election."
